Kuta, Bali – 9 September 2025: The Asian Surf Cooperative (ASC) is pleased to announce that the 2025 Pingtung Jialeshuei International Surfing Competition has been confirmed as the third stop on the Asian ProAm Surf Series (APSS). The event will take place from 22–26 October 2025 at Jialeshuei Bay, one of South Taiwan’s most scenic coastal locations.
Sponsored by the Pingtung Government and organized by the Taiwan Ocean Recreation Sports Association (TORSA), the Pingtung Jialeshuei International Surfing Competition is the longest-running surfing event in South Taiwan and one of the most respected surf competitions in the region.

This year introduces Men’s and Women’s APSS Longboard and Shortboard Divisions, featuring substantial prize money and valuable Asian Region ranking points. These divisions are expected to attract Asia’s top emerging competitive surfers. At the conclusion of the APSS season, champions in each division will be awarded both a championship trophy and a significant cash prize.
The Pingtung Jialeshuei competition follows directly after the Dongsha Open of Surfing (17–19 October, Zhoushan), making it convenient for competitors to travel via direct flights from Shanghai to Kaohsiung. The event will be live-streamed worldwide and judged by a team of ISA-certified professionals.

In addition to the APSS divisions, the competition will also feature amateur categories including Under 18 (Juniors), Stand Up Paddle (SUP), and Bodyboard (BB). The event will combine world-class surfing with live music, food, cultural performances, and local crafts, offering an unforgettable experience for athletes, fans, and visitors alike.
Event Information and Registration
Competitors in the non-APSS divisions may register for multiple categories, provided each entry uses a different type of surf craft (e.g., Shortboard, Longboard, SUP).

“Our relationship with TORSA and the Pingtung County Government began in 2015, when they first hosted an ASC tour event in Jialeshuei. We are honored to include Jialeshuei on the APSS tour once again and look forward to showcasing the waves and hospitality that make this such a special venue.” –Tim Hain, ASC Representative
“TORSA, now in its 20th year of hosting competitions, is very proud to welcome international surfers to the 2025 Pingtung Jialeshuei APSS Asia Tour Taiwan. Hosting the third stop of the APSS will help develop the skills of our local surfers while promoting Southern Taiwan as a surf destination.” –Chen Fu Chen, TORSA Chairman
