Wednesday, 19 August 2025 – Kuta, Bali, Indonesia: The countdown is on! In just a few days, Tipi Jabrik’s Grom Patrol Grand Final 2025, presented by AirAsia, will take over Halfway, Kuta Beach from 22–24 August 2025. This landmark event will bring together 150+ groms (young surfers) from 19 countries, making it the largest youth surfing competition in Asia.


This year’s final caps off an exciting international series, with earlier stops held successfully in India and Thailand. Thanks to the support of AirAsia, international athletes including budding professional surfers from across the region have flown to Bali to compete, highlighting their commitment to making surf events more accessible to youths and connecting surfing communities across ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) and beyond.
The competition line-up will feature 10 divisions, from Under 12 to Under 18, plus longboard categories in addition to a special Parents & Kids Pushing Session on Sunday morning. Heats will run in a 4-surfer format with 50% of the field advancing to the next stage, ensuring every round is packed with action. Seeding is based on 2025 rankings, followed by 2024 standings, registration order, and selected wildcards.
Athletes to watch include:

- India – Kishore Kumar (U18 Boys), Kamali Moorthy (U18 & U16 Girls), Harish Prakash (U16 Boys)

- Thailand – Isabel Faye Higgs (U18 Girls), Ramil Arromchuen (U16 Boys), Earng Jirapat (U14 Girls)
India’s athletes are travelling via Chennai → Kuala Lumpur → Bali, while Thailand’s team is flying from Phuket, with some already on the island since 16 August.
The three-day schedule:
- Day 1 (22 Aug): Opening rounds
- Day 2 (23 Aug): Advancement rounds
- Day 3 (24 Aug): Finals and the Awards Ceremony at Mamaka Rooftop, one of Bali’s best sunset spots.
