Wednesday, 16th July 2025 – Covelong Point, Tamil Nadu, India: The second Indian stop of Tipi Jabrik’s Grom Patrol got underway today at Covelong Point, with the Under 14 Boys Division completing three quarterfinal heats to determine which of the ten competitors would move on to the semifinals.
Originally scheduled to continue with the Under 16 and Under 18 Boys semifinals later in the day, the contest was put on hold due to increasing onshore winds. Contest directors made the call to pause the event, setting a new call time for 7:00 AM tomorrow, with a 7:30 AM start expected. The updated forecast and rising tide point to slightly bigger, more consistent waves for Day 2.
Standout performer of the day was Prahlad Sriram, who posted both the highest single wave score and highest combined heat total in the Under 14s. His 7.17 (out of 10) and total score of 12.34 (out of 20) secured his place in the semifinals and set the bar for the rest of the division.
